documentation? 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi -

This looked like a nice plugin - I was and did - willing to pay the small donation, but was disappointed when I tried to setup. There wasn't any documentation or help as far as I could see regarding the difference between setting up a url and a form.

I initially chose the form, gave the keyword, and then was unable to access my administration area at all. I did not change my url because I assumed I'd get a form asking me for the key. I tried adding the key to the url after searching this area to find out how to form the url (although I wasn't sure if that would work because I had selected the form option).

I had to find out (I once again had to search the bug report forums, where I found a reference to manually eliminating the sql rows for the plug in so I could regain access to my backend.

Once I manually updated my database, I did get access to the backend. I went into my extensions to try and reinstall this (I know, but I did pay the $5, figured I'd try the url route) and was told that the component was already installed. I don't have a problem with that and understand why I'd get that error, but why are such incomplete instructions given under the plugin "documentation" to update the database and not give me the complete instructions to finish the manual uninstall, which is what was begun when the database was updated. So the "documentation" given is 1/2 an uninstall of a plugin?

I read in the bug report forum that someone had replied to a poster with a "read the post about..." that contained the database update info. But if it takes this much research to get basic user info regarding a plug in, how useful is it? The forum posters have other things to do than absolutely scour every page of the site and forum postings to get info.

I have the latest Joomla 1.5.18 Stable install, running on mysql 5.0.97 db on Linux apache.
1. How would I setup access to my admin via a form?
2. What url would I use to invoke this form to access my admin area?
3. How would I setup access to my admin via a url?
4. What url would I use to access my admin login screen.

Thanks.

Thanks for pointing these issues out. We are working on better documentation and should have it ready by the end of the week.

where is it? I was locked out of my site and had to restore a backup to get it back. Also the plugin doesn't work with SEF and K2. Try creating a new doc in K2 and you get kicked.

I'm surprised to see such a change in this wonderful little plugin.
I used to use a combination of non alpha/number characters but now find I can't use that.
So I have to use only alpha?

Anyway.. good addition of the IP blocking/whitelisting.

Cheers
