I'm unable to install jsecure 2.0 ; I get the following error message :
JFolder::create: Unable to create folder
Unable to write entry

All the permissions have been set to 777.
I'm using Joomla version 1.5.15

Are you able to install other components? Id this a fresh Joomla install? Check the paths to you tmp directory in your confuration.php file.

I haven't installed another component yet. I can try to, but I wasn't planning to install any, for now.

Yes, the paths to the tmp folder is correct :
var $tmp_path = '/var/www/vhosts/xxx.ch/httpdocs/tmp';
This directory has permissions set to 777.

After a failed install, I get the following files in the tmp folder (see attached).

It's a fresh YooTheme template install.

I think this may be an issue with your files permissions or paths in your config file. Please install another component to see if that is successful.

Can you check following:

1) Login to administration area and go to Help-> System Info->Directory Permission and check if all the listed folder are writable
2) Login to administration area and check the tmp and cache path in Configuration to make sure they point to proper path.
3) Try to upload a image using media manager, to make site that application has access to save files on server

Provide your feedback once you are done with above steps.
