I.  Introduction

jSecure Lite v1.0 for Joomla! 3.0, Joomla! 2.5, Joomla! 1.7, Joomla! 1.6 and Joomla! 1.5.
Joomla! has one security problem, any web user can easily know if the site is created in Joomla! by typing the URL to access the administration area (i.e. www.sitename.com/administrator). This allows hackers to hack the site easily once they crack the id and password for Joomla! . The jSecure Lite component prevents access to the administration (back end) login page if the user does not use the appropriate access key.


II.  Installation | Uninstallation

Installing jSecure Lite from a package:
  1. Log into the Joomla backend area.

  2. Go to Extensions -> Install/Uninstall (For Joomla 1.5.x) and Go to Extensions -> Extension Manager (From Joomla 1.6 and onwards).

  3. Install the jSecure Lite.

Uninstalling jSecure Lite:
  1. Log into the Joomla backend area.

  2. Go to Extensions -> Install/Uninstall.

  3. Click on 'Components' tab.

  4. Search with 'jsecureLite' and click on checkbox to uninstall.

  5. Click on 'uninstall' button on top right side area to uninstall.

  1. Remove the components from /components/com_jsecurelite and administrator/components/com_jsecurelite

  2. Remove the plug-in from /plugins/system/jsecure.php, /plugins/system/jsecure.xml and /plugins/system/404.html

  3. Remove the jsecure folder from plug-ins. /plugins/system/jsecurelite

  4. Remove the following files from folder administrator/language/en-GB/

    1. en-GB.plg_system_jsecurelite.ini

    2. en-GB.com_jsecurelite.ini

  5. Delete the component and plug-in entry from database.

  1. Execute the following query using PHPMyadmin.

    1. DELETE FROM databasePrefix_components where option = 'com_jsecurelite'

    2. DELETE FROM databasePrefix_plugins where element = 'jsecurelite'

Manual Uninstallation of jSecure Lite 1.0 For Joomla 2.5.x and Joomla 3.x
  1. Remove the components from /components/com_jsecurelite and administrator/components/com_jsecurelite

  2. Remove the plug-in from /plugins/system/jsecure.php, /plugins/system/jsecure.xml and /plugins/system/404.html

  3. Remove the jsecure folder from plug-ins. /plugins/system/jsecurelite

  4. Remove the following files from folder administrator/language/en-GB/

    1. en-GB.plg_system_jsecurelite.ini

    2. en-GB.com_jsecurelite.ini

  5. Delete the component and plug-in entry from database.

    1. jos_assets: com_jsecurelite - jsecurelite

    2. jos_extensions: System - jSecure Lite - plugin
      jsecurelite - component
